Frequently asked questions

Questions About the Laser Pathway

Which level should I select?

Choose Level 1 if you are new to the pathway. Level 2 requires a current Apprentice-in-Training credential, and Level 3 requires a current Technician credential. Admissions verifies your documents before enrollment.

Is the $50 administrative and application processing fee included in tuition?

No. The $50 administrative and application processing fee is separate, non-refundable, and used to begin admissions and background-screening review. State fees are also separate from GCI tuition.

Are payment plans available?

Payment plans may be considered case by case after the official application is received. The arrangement depends on the program, and all required tuition must be paid before GCI releases the program certificate.

Where is hands-on training completed?

Level 1 includes in-person hands-on training at GCI’s Grand Prairie training center. Admissions confirms the supervision, site, documentation, and scheduling details for Levels 2 and 3.

Does completing a GCI program automatically issue my state credential?

No. GCI provides the education and program documentation. TDLR determines whether an applicant has met the current requirements for an individual state certificate.

When will I receive course access?

Course access is provided after the admissions review, required documents, enrollment agreement, and applicable tuition arrangements are complete.
