Global Career Institute (“GCI”) expects students to conduct themselves professionally, respectfully, safely, and honestly throughout their educational experience.
Because GCI operates a hybrid training model, these expectations apply to both online coursework and onsite hands-on training.
1. Professional Expectations
Students are expected to:
- Participate appropriately in online coursework
- Complete assignments honestly
- Meet program deadlines
- Attend required onsite hands-on training
- Arrive prepared and on time for onsite training
- Follow instructor directions
- Communicate professionally
- Treat instructors, staff, classmates, and others respectfully
- Use school technology and equipment appropriately
- Follow safety and infection-control procedures
- Maintain confidentiality
- Follow GCI policies and program requirements
2. Online Conduct
Students must maintain professional conduct when using:
- Online courses
- Learning platforms
- Student portals
- Video sessions
- Discussion boards
- Digital assignments
- Other GCI technology systems
Prohibited online conduct includes harassment, threats, bullying, impersonation, unauthorized access, academic dishonesty, inappropriate content, and misuse of school technology.
3. Onsite Training Conduct
During hands-on training at the GCI training center, students must:
- Follow instructor directions
- Follow safety procedures
- Use equipment appropriately
- Follow infection-control procedures
- Use required PPE
- Maintain professional behavior
- Respect the facility and equipment
- Participate in required skills practice
- Report injuries, exposures, equipment problems, or unsafe conditions promptly
A student may be removed from an activity when conduct creates a safety concern.
4. Academic Integrity
Students must submit their own work.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- Cheating
- Plagiarism
- Unauthorized collaboration
- Falsifying assignments
- Falsifying attendance
- Falsifying records
- Misrepresenting skills or competencies
- Using unauthorized assistance during assessments
5. Confidentiality and Privacy
Students must respect confidential information encountered during coursework, demonstrations, skills training, or any applicable clinical or experiential activity.
Students may not photograph, record, copy, disclose, or distribute confidential information without authorization.
6. Prohibited Conduct
Students may face disciplinary action for:
- Harassment
- Bullying
- Threats
- Intimidation
- Discrimination
- Violence
- Unsafe behavior
- Academic dishonesty
- Falsification
- Theft
- Property damage
- Misuse of equipment
- Violation of safety procedures
- Repeated attendance problems
- Unprofessional communication
- Breach of confidentiality
- Possession or use of prohibited substances or weapons in violation of applicable law or GCI policy
- Conduct that interferes with learning, safety, or school operations
7. Attendance and Participation
Students are responsible for completing required online coursework and attending required onsite hands-on training.
Failure to complete required coursework or attend required hands-on training may affect academic progress, competency, completion, or eligibility for program completion.
8. Disciplinary Action
Depending on the circumstances, GCI may take appropriate action, including:
- Verbal warning
- Written warning
- Student conference
- Corrective action
- Removal from an activity
- Probation
- Suspension of participation
- Dismissal from the program
- Denial of completion
- Other action permitted by applicable policy
9. Immediate Safety Concerns
GCI may immediately remove a student from an onsite activity when necessary to protect students, staff, instructors, visitors, or others.
