Flexible, on-demand learning: Complete the required 100 documented procedures through scheduled practical sessions. Sessions must be scheduled with GCI 2 to 3 weeks in advance. GCI plans to offer reduced-cost laser hair removal appointments to public training models to support supervised student procedure requirements. Final model pricing will be announced after approval.

Separate GCI administrative and application processing fee: $50, non-refundable except when required by applicable law or GCI policy. Applicable TDLR fees are not included in GCI tuition.

Current TDLR Technician Requirements

Required Current Credential

Applicants must hold a current Laser Hair Removal Apprentice-in-Training certificate before the qualifying procedures begin.

Supervised Experience

Complete 100 laser hair removal procedures within 12 months under the direct supervision of a Senior Laser Hair Removal Technician or Laser Hair Removal Professional.

Documentation

Procedures must be documented on the required TDLR supervised apprentice procedures affidavit and submitted with the state application.

State Application

TDLR currently lists a $70 state application fee and a criminal-history background check for the Technician certificate.

At least 18 years old
High school diploma or GED
Current Apprentice-in-Training certificate
Required identification, documents, and background review

What This Level Supports

A TDLR-licensed Technician may perform laser hair removal procedures while continuing to build experience toward the Senior Technician level. The state certificate,not GCI course completion,determines authorization to practice.
